Characteristics

The Yakhtenny (Yacht) Bridge spans across the Neva Bay in the Gulf of Finland along Yakhtennaya Street, connecting Primorsky District with Krestovsky Island. It is designed for pedestrians and cyclists.

The bridge is the longest and highest footbridge in St. Petersburg. It is 672 meters long, and its width ranges from 16.3 to 17.1 meters. The bridge has 11 spans with a navigational opening of 16 meters.

History

The bridge was built to provide connection with the St. Petersburg Stadium as part of the preparations for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The construction work began in 2015. The bridge was inaugurated on May 27, 2017.
